500 China-Europe freight trains will pass through China’s Erenhot port
In 2023, the Erenhot port in China’s Inner Mongolia has reported more than 500 China-Europe freight trains. This follows the establishment earlier this year of a green channel for China-Europe freight train operations, which resulted in a 20% increase in container transportation capacity. Erenhot port is the largest land port connecting China to more than 60 regions in more than ten countries. The port handled over 1.42 million tonnes of cargo in January alone, representing a 90% year-on-year increase in import and export cargo.
