Hapag-Lloyd announces new rate increase for cargo from Middle East to US
Hapag-Lloyd has announced a new general rate increase (GRI) for containerized cargo transported from the Middle East to the United States. The increase will be effective on March 29, 2023, for 20′ and 40′ dry, reefer, and special containers, including high cube equipment. The GRI will be $450 for a 20-foot dry container and $500 for a 40-foot dry container, as well as $450 for a 20-foot reefer container and $500 for a 40-foot reefer container. Special containers will also see price increases. Until further notice, the increase will apply to all containers gated in full.
