Analysts predict that the post-pandemic trade slowdown will have an impact on US household goods demand
According to experts, the post-pandemic trade slowdown in the United States is harming home products demand more than industrial goods demand. The Transpacific container trade has experienced a considerable reduction in demand and freight prices, whilst the Transatlantic traffic has remained largely constant. Domestic transportation and aviation cargo markets have also declined. Despite this, the US economy does not exhibit any substantial red flag indicators of an impending economic downturn. Heavy imports in the first half of 2022 left many merchants with large inventories, contributing to the present freight recession. Rates have fallen less sharply on the transatlantic commerce than on the transpacific.
