Container ship runs aground on Greek island in Aegean Sea
On February 24, the MED Cerkezkoy, a container ship with a capacity of 1,076 TEU, ran aground on Tilos island in the Aegean Sea in Greece. The vessel, crewed by 17 Turkish seafarers, was en route from Piraeus to Latakia. Greek media reported that two coast guard ships were on site, and a Greek tugboat was on its way to help. The Greek authorities have stated that the weather is good, and there is no risk of sinking.
