Container volumes at the Port of Valencia drop by 23.5% in January 2023
The Port of Valencia experienced a 23.5% decline in container volumes in January 2023, handling 343,793 TEUs. Full containers dropped by 25%, with import boxes down by 32.3% and export containers by 10.2%. Transshipment containers also decreased by 28.1%. The port moved 5.7 million tonnes, a 16% decrease compared to January 2022. However, Valenciaport saw an increase in liquid and solid bulk traffic, achieving a 13.8% increase in liquid bulk and a 21.4% increase in solid bulk.
