Double reefer connections at APM terminals Gothenburg

Due to increased demand for temperature-controlled goods, APM Terminals Gothenburg will double its reefer connections to over 200 in H1 2023. In addition, the terminal will improve its pre-trip inspection process and supply renewable energy to all reefer plugs. MCR, one of its partners, will provide a service for managing temperature-controlled containers. To accommodate increased demand, the company intends to expand the area for pre-trip inspections, among other efficiency-enhancing activities. APMT Mumbai temporarily closed Berth 1 last week to continue its Fit for Future project.

  1. The use of renewable energy in all reefer plugs is an important step towards sustainability, and I hope to see more terminals follow suit. It will be interesting to see how MCR’s temperature-controlled container management service affects the terminal’s operations and whether it improves efficiency.

  2. APM Terminals Gothenburg’s decision to double its reefer connections and improve its pre-trip inspection process is an important step towards meeting the growing demand for temperature-controlled goods.
