Export of hydrogen peroxide from Bangladesh faces new hurdle
The export of hydrogen peroxide from Bangladesh has been suspended again after the customs authority imposed restrictions on the lone depot handling the chemical export. Only one depot, Chittagong Container Transportation Ltd (CCTL), was allowed to handle hydrogen peroxide since the incident at BM Container depot last year. However, last week, Chittagong Customs asked CCTL not to handle hydrogen peroxide because it failed to meet the requirements for handling dangerous substances. This has caused significant disruption in the export of hydrogen peroxide, with 15 containers being returned to the factories.
